The GIO Training program

The training program is based on the Gestalt methodology, is structured around the experimental method which includes practice and theory, offering a mix of development events designed to meet the individual needs of consultants, executives, managers and psychologists in order to enhance their impact in their professional and personal lives and provide a new exciting career path. It runs over a period of 4 years, part time, including Field practice (1 year) because teaching and practice are inextricably bounded up with each other and it takes time to learn and use the Gestalt principles in practice.

The Training program has been developed following the main guidelines and ethical code of EAGT (European Association of Gestalt Therapy) standards for GIO training, extensive research into the structure, academic requirements, length of study, target populations, trainer standards etc. of other programs utilized by institutions in Europe and worldwide as well as discussions with other institutions and trainers as to whatever works best, learning outcomes, standards, etc. Trainers and trainees of the first training program assisted in revising the program after its completion in 2008 through evaluation.
